Going On A Trip

We just got home from a vision trip down to Ecuador where we were able to visit several different areas in the country. One of the most exciting points from the trip was that this was Sophies first plane ride and mission trip. When we boarded the plane in Montgomery they gave her the symbolic wingsfor her first flight. Now a week later she has six flights under her belt and she did absolutely amazing on every last one of them! Not to mention while in Ecuador we spent countless hours in the car and bus traveling to the different towns and never once did she complain.

I am so proud of her for the trooper she was while tagging along on this trip, but it made me more excited about her adjusting to the new lifestyle when we move there! She easily flowed with every step of the way. She enjoyed playing in every playground she could get her hands on, she ate the food she was served, and she befriended every person who spoke to her. I can see her being an inspiration to me about being laid back and just going with the flow and not letting anything bother her.

As the saying goes: The way you spell missions is f-l-e-x-a-b-i-l-i-t-y.

I could not tell you the last time Sophie has napped voluntarily at home, but everyday during the trip she just flopped over and zonked out not matter where she was. (But she still woke up at the crack of dawn every morning) When she was up she explored her surroundings, either inside or out and seemed right at home wherever we happened to be. She adjusted to all the nuances you come across when traveling to a different country like a pro. I dont think I can say enough how awesome she did! So after this trip I think Sophie is ready to pack on up and head on down!
